Summary
Stop blindly copying the top-ranked builds. Many players spend dozens of hours farming the required gear only to discover that the build doesn't suit the content they actually play. Some struggle with slow Helltide farming, while others constantly die when pushing high-tier Pits. This guide ignores leaderboard rankings and instead helps you choose a class based on your own playstyle, allowing you to gear up efficiently and enjoy everything from Torment difficulty to high-level Pit pushing.
Part 1: Decide What You'll Spend Most of Your Time Doing
This section is aimed at new seasonal players who haven't created a character yet and want to avoid wasting time on a class that doesn't match their preferred gameplay.
Before choosing a class, determine your primary goal. Are you farming Helltides for crafting materials, pushing high-tier Pits, clearing Nightmare Dungeons for gear, or repeatedly farming bosses for Unique items? Every build excels in different types of content.
Don't focus solely on the highest Pit clear listed on the leaderboard. Many leaderboard builds are designed exclusively for extreme Pit pushing and perform poorly during everyday farming.
Finally, check the gear requirements before committing to a build. Some rely heavily on Mythic Uniques, and failing to obtain those items can completely stall your progression.
Part 2: Choose Spiritborn for the Highest Damage Potential
This section is ideal for players who enjoy fast-paced gameplay, constant movement, and eliminating enemies almost instantly without requiring a full set of Mythic gear.
The core build revolves around Counterattack, Rushing Claw, Pestilence Storm, and the Devourer Ultimate. Use Rushing Claw to stay close to enemies while maintaining Counterattack, stack Poison damage through Pestilence Storm, then finish weakened enemies instantly with Devourer.
The build reaches its full potential through the Zig Rune, which activates Concussive Stomp. The current interaction grants an additional 500% damage against Unstoppable enemies and bosses, plus another 100% bonus, allowing nearly every offensive skill to benefit from this enormous damage increase.
Even with only Harmony of Ebewaka and the Ring of the Rising Moon, the build clears content much faster than most alternatives. However, keep in mind that this interaction may be adjusted in a future patch.
Part 3: Pick Barbarian for Long-Term Stability
This section is recommended for players who want a reliable build that performs well throughout the season without relying on temporary mechanics or unintended interactions.
The core rotation uses Charge, Stomp, and Shattering Roar. Charge continuously applies Damage over Time, while Shattering Roar executes weakened enemies and immediately refreshes your cooldowns.
The build's most important items are Shattered Vow and Chain Scorched Mail. Shattered Vow instantly executes enemies whose remaining Life is lower than their Damage over Time, dramatically improving clear speed. Chain Scorched Mail increases your damage after repeatedly using Brawling Skills, allowing your damage to scale naturally during combat.
Because this build doesn't depend on any version-specific interactions, it remains one of the safest choices from the beginning of Season 14 through its conclusion.
Part 4: Push High-Tier Pits with Storm Shred Druid
This section is designed for players aiming to clear Pit Tier 135 and beyond while still maintaining strong performance in Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, and boss encounters.
The build combines Lightning Storm, Shred, and Grizzly Rage. Before entering combat, repeatedly cast Lightning Storm until the Storm Shepherd Set triggers its Triple Cast bonus. Then activate Grizzly Rage, remain in Dire Werewolf form, and continuously attack with Shred while Lightning Storm provides sustained area damage.
The core equipment includes the Storm Shepherd Set, Ifas' Dire Totem, Waxing Gibbous, and Tibault's Will. Tibault's Will continuously restores Spirit, allowing you to maintain the Spirit consumption bonus that significantly increases your damage.
This build offers one of the best balances between offense and defense in Season 14, making it an excellent choice for both efficient farming and high-level Pit progression.
Part 5: Choose Firewall Sorcerer for Simple, Consistent Gameplay
This section is intended for players who prefer ranged combat and sustained damage over complicated rotations.
The core setup uses Firewall together with Unstable Currents. Teleport through enemy packs, cover the battlefield with Firewalls, and let Burning damage eliminate groups of monsters while your gear triggers additional elemental effects.
The most important items are Vision of the Firestorm and Drogan's Anguish, both of which greatly increase Firewall's damage and area coverage.
One drawback is that Unstable Currents has a shorter uptime this season, making long boss fights slightly less fluid than before. Even so, the build remains easy to learn and comfortable for everyday farming.
Part 6: Play Rogue for Fast Ranged Combat and Crowd Control
This section is ideal for players who enjoy ranged combat, high mobility, and controlling enemies before dealing burst damage.
The build centers around Heartseeker and Rain of Arrows. Freeze enemies first, then cast Rain of Arrows to maximize the damage amplified by Signet of Pelgane.
Core equipment includes Signet of Pelgane and Scoundrel's Kiss. During Freeze, these items significantly increase your burst damage, allowing you to eliminate elite packs almost instantly without exposing yourself to unnecessary danger.
Unlike some previous Rogue builds, this version does not rely on outdated bugs or exploits, making it a dependable option for both farming and Pit progression.
Part 7: Three Great Choices for Casual Players
This section is perfect for players who want to clear Torment 12 comfortably without pursuing maximum leaderboard performance.
Warlock can use the Hellfire, Sigil of Chaos, and Skullsplitter setup together with Endless Barrage and Demonic Smash to comfortably defeat Torment 12 Mephisto. Alternatively, the Cage of Madness and Tortured Wretch build lets summoned companions absorb incoming damage while you safely defeat bosses.
Necromancer performs exceptionally well with Blood Wave or the Frost Minion build featuring Bloodless Scream. Frozen enemies remain under constant pressure while your minions deal consistent damage, making endgame progression smooth even without perfect gear.
Paladin benefits from the Clash and Zeal builds, supported by Red Sermon and Harlequin Crest. Once equipped with quality Mythic gear, the class delivers excellent survivability and consistent damage while comfortably handling high-end content.
Class Selection Tips
If you only have one or two hours each day to play, prioritize Barbarian or Druid. Their builds remain stable throughout the season and require fewer adjustments after balance patches.
If your goal is completing the Season Journey as quickly as possible, choose Spiritborn or Rogue, both of which offer exceptional farming speed.
If you're only missing one or two essential Mythic items, purchasing them instead of endlessly farming can dramatically reduce the time required to complete your build and begin enjoying the endgame.
Which Players Benefit Most?
New seasonal players: Choose a class that matches your preferred gameplay instead of blindly following the meta. This makes progression from leveling to endgame much smoother.
Players focused on fast farming: Spiritborn and Rogue provide excellent Helltide and Nightmare Dungeon clear speeds, allowing you to gather crafting materials and equipment much more efficiently.
Pit pushers: Storm Shred Druid offers one of the strongest combinations of survivability and damage, making it one of the best choices for clearing Pit Tier 135 and beyond.
Casual players: Barbarian, Necromancer, and Paladin require less demanding gameplay while still comfortably clearing every Torment difficulty and most endgame content.
